American Lake is firmly established as one of the greater Tacoma area's primary fishing lakes. The video was shot on a cool day with moderating winds. This lake is 1125 acres, 8 miles SW of Tacoma. Take the Camp Murray-Madigan exit from Hwy 5 to proceed to this spot. The lake holds rainbow, cutthroat, kokanee, perch, largemouth and rock bass, and bullhead. There are several boat launches on the lake, as well as a resort on the lake's east shore.
Mike Carey and Bruce Middleton got the opportunity to fish at this lovely lake location. They found it to be a tough day for bass fishing but a truly nice day on the water.
